You know how something is so intense that all you have is silence for a while before finally exploding? That’s exactly how I felt after reading The Boy and His Ribbon by Pepper Winters. I was struck completely silent; my mouth agape, searching for any method to sweep myself up off the floor where Ms. Winters so painstakingly caused me to melt.
What an unbelievably moving, heart wrenching, and deep, so very deep, plot line. I am reeling in the aftermath of a love so pure, so rare, so raw that I can taste it and breathe it. I almost feel consumed by such depth and intensity.
What did you do to me, Ms. Winters? Where do you pull these magnificent story lines from? And how in the world do you keep going deeper and deeper and deeper? One would think there is nothing left, yet Pepper Winters continue to shatter all pre-conceived notions that depth has a limit. This author is teaching me: depth is only relative and must surely be limitless.
I am absolutely stunned into speechlessness by The Boy and His Ribbon by Pepper Winters who has, once again, sent me into a stupor and made me eat my own words that Ms. Winters simply cannot outdo her last published work.
Oh, but she did. Again. This is the single most intense love story I’ve yet to read. Well done, Ms. Winters! Well done!
